What is Flekt?

Flekt is a service that reveals the creative world behind media.  By uploading media you'll be answering one basic question: What tools do you use?  

Why should I use Flekt?

People use a variety of different tools to create media, and the world wants to know what they are.  This is especially meaningful when it is timely. 

How does Flekt work?

With Flekt you can broadcast to the world what your creating, and the tools your using; its as simple as uploading media, we'll do the rest with our proprietary technology.  You can also track others;  the feed on your page will be updated (with product information and more) in real-time as the people your tracking upload media. 

How did you conceive of Flekt?

After growing Amvona from dorm-room to the largest dedicated photo accessory retailer online, late in 2006 Greg Lemelson had a small epiphany.   Countless sleepless nights, and early mornings were spent in a sort of vision of what could be.  Ridiculous hours were worked.  He thought of little else, than the best way to go about bringing desperate pieces of information together in a meaningful way that would reveal the products people were using. 

It's been an inspired endeavor. Some amazing people have shown up to help, in particular a CTO who thought working ridiculous hours sounded like fun.   In March of 2008 the company created a prototype called "Amvona Trails" for private consumption.  After the economy pitched a curve-ball, the company launched Flekt in mid 2009.  

Both Amvona and Flekt have been completely self-funded and profitable.

Who's involved?

We think work, and life should be an adventure.  We drive a few fuel efficient vehicles, not during work hehe, a motorcycle (but not during winter, that would be crazy), and one SUV (but we’re working on it.) We sing to the top of our lungs in our car (but not all together, that would be disturbing.) We faithfully run on Dunkin...(but only because of its nutritional value). We are strongly involved in our church and community and we somehow fit life in between.

Where is Flekt?

We’re located in Mansfield, Massachusetts (we've been told that this location doesn't help).   We're trying to do for internet technology and Mansfield, what Warren Buffett did for Omaha and power-house investing, apperently we didn't think we had enough challenges already.
